I have had a slow dawning of realisation of late. I need time to restore order. This is how I am able to pursue dreams, work on projects and have weeks of intense focus. Housework and other parts of my life may fall by the wayside at times. This is necessary. I can’t do everything all at once. I am starting to value space on the weekends to restore order, to prepare for the week. This restores a part of my soul. I am reminded anew of the impact that my external environment has on my internal soul. Creating this space, either on a weekend or sometime during the week, allows me the capacity to focus on important work without heaping coals of guilt on myself. This is the next micro-step in learning how to juggle all of life’s demands. I know that I do not always get it right. There are times when I focus in on the unimportant to the detriment of the important. Or I let things go for too long and my family pays the price. Change comes in ebbs and flows, in tiny steps, in mini-revelations that can be hard to pinpoint. What is it in your life that you need to take time to restore?
This post was inspired by the Five Minute Friday prompt word “restore”. Each week a bunch of writers set a timer for five minutes and write unedited. You can read what others wrote here.
In other exciting news, the course I have been working on launches on Tuesday 19th June! The Fragrant Meditations: Essential Collection course combines Scripture meditations with essential oils. The prelaunch group has loved their sneak peek and now the countdown is on to share it with the rest of the world!
