How can I make a good start to a busy season? Plan

My next few weeks and months are going to be ridiculously full in so many ways. At the start of a new week of a new school term I need to encourage myself to plan. Maybe you need that reminder and encouragement too. I try not to get super caught up in making intricate plans as I find that counterproductive. These are some things I do need to plan for:

  • How and when am I going to spend time with God this week?
  • What am I going to do to recharge my body and soul?
  • What are the priorities on my list for this week and what can wait?
  • What time am I going to set aside for my marriage this week?
  • How am I going to minimise my overuse of technology to make the most of my time?

If I don’t spend a little time thinking about these things and being intentional, the whirlwind of life takes over. I can sense overwhelm building in me and I will not let it drown me. Maybe you are also in a busy season and can feel the waves lapping up your legs. What planning do you need to do to be effective and make sure that the important things in life get your time and attention?

Inspired by the Five Minute Friday prompt word: plan. It was written by Five Minute Friday guidelines- five minutes of free write without editing. Making this series achievable this week!
This post is part of a series for Write 31 Days called “For Your Encouragement.” I am taking requests from readers on what they want encouragement about and responding to the best of my ability. I would love to hear from you.
