• Easter is fast approaching- what I’m doing to keep the focus on Jesus

As always plans haven’t quite worked out in the lead up to Easter, however, in roads have been made.  Sense of the Resurrection In this post, I talked about the Sense of the Resurrection ebook that I planned to use during lent with my daughter. We have done five out of the twelve activities so far. My darling girl has been in a non-craft mood that past few weeks so it has been a struggle to get her to participate some days. I ended up going with mostly doing the flag options to take some of the pressure off. The quick style of this option has been suiting us better…

  • February, March and April SSMT Scriptures

I have found myself starting to lag in my Scripture memorisation at only 3 months in. My solution? Put it out on the internet to take on a greater feeling of accountability and also to create images to help cement them in my brain more. Here are my verses from February, March and the first one of April. I have been working on small passages, splitting them up to be a verse each fortnight. (You can see my January Scriptures here) Images created in The Bible App Are you participating in the Siesta Scripture Memory Team or another Scripture memorisation this year? What verse are you working on right now.

  • Why I’ve given up Bible study for now…

I am going to attempt to form words around the swirl of thoughts and deep growth that are within right now. For the past few weeks, I’ve known that something was shifting. I’ve been a bit restless again. There’s been a tension that I couldn’t put my finger on. I wrote about some of what I grabbed hold of from a conference I went to in this post and my sense of a wait coming to an end here. We’ve had an amazing guest speaker at church who has not held back the hard hitting, uncomfortable truth that we need to hear. A few years ago, I was longing to be…

  • Jehovah Sneaky at his best

What a tremendous privilege to work for a company that sets aside two days at the start of the year for staff to spend time in God’s presence and hear from some awesome speakers. The theme this year was grace and identity. I have so much head knowledge of these concepts but know that there is so much more heart belief and transformation needed in these areas. I was also able to see today how far I have come in this journey too. It was so encouraging to me to feel so light under these concepts although definitely challenged to go further too. There wasn’t that deep cleaning needed this…

  • Begin…..

I read the prompt word for this week’s Tuesday at Ten and had an unexpected reaction. I felt these emotions that took me a little while to identify. Begin. A seemingly benign word. So why did I feel excitement and dread, anticipation and overwhelmed, and general angst at just the thought of writing on this?  I needed some time to process this and what associations I have with this word. A beginning is full of potential, promise and opportunity. It is also full of the possibility of failure, tough times, hard work and defeat. The fear of the unknown comes into play. The tiredness I battle makes it seem easier just…
