The Impact of the Sense of the Resurrection this year.
Easter is almost here! We are using “A Sense of the Resurrection” with my daughter in the lead up (read more here). She has loved (most) of the experiences and creating the flags thus far. I wasn’t too sure how much was really sticking however. On Monday, I had a meeting with her teacher at Kindy to talk about how she has settled into school. They had been talking about Easter this week and Isabel volunteered the information that Easter was celebrating Jesus dying on the cross for us. She was the only kid in the class who knew that side of Easter (at least as far as came out…

Lent for kids: A Sense of the Resurrection
If you read any of my blog in December, you know that engaging my daughter in activities that focus on the true meaning of Christmas is important to me. I want to do the same with Easter but focusing on a celebration that also includes torture, death and sin is not so easy. I have the added concern of having a very sensitive little girl who takes heavy issues on board. Having done Truth in the Tinsel, it was a natural progression to try Sense of the Resurrection since it is written by the same author. I did some of the activities with Isabel last year (read about that here) and…

Easter is fast approaching- what I’m doing to keep the focus on Jesus
As always plans haven’t quite worked out in the lead up to Easter, however, in roads have been made. Sense of the Resurrection In this post, I talked about the Sense of the Resurrection ebook that I planned to use during lent with my daughter. We have done five out of the twelve activities so far. My darling girl has been in a non-craft mood that past few weeks so it has been a struggle to get her to participate some days. I ended up going with mostly doing the flag options to take some of the pressure off. The quick style of this option has been suiting us better…

Leading up to Easter with my daughter: a Sense of the Resurrection
Disclaimer: contains affiliate links that assist in supporting my family. I have never gone to a traditional church where Lent was celebrated and adhered to. I have mostly ignored it to be honest! I have done a couple of fasts for Lent in the past few years, however, and last year I did a devotional in the lead up to try to recapture the full meaning of the cross in my life. I have been doing a kids devotion with my daughter each morning. I don’t know how much has been going in but I trust that the concepts and Scriptures will get through eventually. I have been stuck on…
